Important information about LiveSnip service standards and platform dependencies.
Service Limitations
Availability: We do not guarantee that LiveSnip will be available at all times. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or due to factors beyond our control.
Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy in clip timestamps and metadata, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy of all information processed through our system.
Data Loss: We implement backup procedures, but we cannot guarantee against data loss. Users should not rely solely on LiveSnip for critical data storage.
Third-Party Services
LiveSnip integrates with third-party services including:
We are not responsible for the availability, functionality, or policies of these third-party services. Changes to their APIs or terms of service may affect LiveSnip functionality.
Content and Copyright
Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to clip and share content. LiveSnip:
- Does not claim ownership of clipped content
- Acts as a platform for organizing and sharing clips
- Will respond to valid copyright takedown requests
- Reserves the right to remove content that violates terms of service
Limitation of Liability
LiveSnip and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the service.
- LiveSnip is completely free forever. To ensure fair usage and optimal performance, clips are available for up to 60 days before being automatically removed. Be sure to highlight and save your favorite moments before they're gone. You can also check how long your clip will remain via Query Clips using clip id.
- Clip/Delete Clip commands won't work on Private/Unlisted/Members Only streams. LiveSnip commands will only work on public streams.
- When clipping highlights from live Twitch or Kick streams, clips will not be immediately available for preview or viewing. You may need to wait up to 5 minutes (or less) for our system to detect the VOD and display clip data. Please refresh the page periodically as the clip will auto-detect once the VOD becomes available.
- If the VOD is disabled or deleted by the streamer, we have no options to display the clip preview. YouTube clips are available immediately as they use a different clipping mechanism.
- LiveSnip helps streamers and viewers mark and save moments from public YouTube, Twitch, and Kick livestreams. Users are responsible for how they use the service.
- Streamers, moderators, and channel owners are responsible for deciding whether LiveSnip is appropriate for their community and for configuring chat bot permissions accordingly.
- Users who trigger clip commands are responsible for the clips, timestamps, usernames, chat messages, and any context they create or submit through supported chat bots (Nightbot, Fossabot, Botrix, StreamElements and Streamer.bot).
- LiveSnip does not control YouTube, Twitch, or Kick livestream content, chat behavior, Discord servers, chat bot responses, or how viewers use generated clip links.
- Public clip pages may display publicly available information including stream metadata, timestamps, usernames from chat, channel names, game/category names, and related livestream details sourced from YouTube, Twitch, and Kick APIs.
- LiveSnip does not record, store, or host any video content. All clips are timestamped references and links to content hosted on YouTube, Twitch, and Kick respectively.
- Clips are automatically removed after 60 days. LiveSnip is not responsible for any content that becomes unavailable due to stream deletion, platform changes, or expiry.
Timing Accuracy
Due to certain limitations in the YouTube, Twitch, and Kick APIs, timestamps may occasionally shift by a few seconds, either forward or backward. To accommodate this, we recommend adjusting the clip delay thoughtfully. Experiment with different delay values to determine the optimal setting for your specific streaming setup. Please note that default delays may already be present during live streams and clip captures.
Data Retention
For service efficiency and storage limitations, all clips are automatically deleted from our system after 60 days. This ensures optimal performance and helps us manage storage costs effectively. We recommend saving important clips to your own storage if you need them for longer periods.
Fair Play & Usage Limits
To guarantee high performance, prevent spam, and ensure a smooth experience for all users and streamers, we enforce fair usage limits. Here is how they apply in plain terms:
| What is Limited? | Maximum Allowed | Time Window | Applies To |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creating Stream Clips | 20 clips | 60 seconds | 📺 Channel (Per Streamer Channel) |
| Clip Creation Frequency | 4 clips | 60 seconds | 👤 User (Each Individual Clipper) |
| Deleting Clips | 10 deletions | 60 seconds | Per Streamer Channel* |
*Note: Clip deletions are only permitted within 5 minutes of the clip's creation to prevent accidental data loss. Above rate limits might change based on server load and traffic.
